Fluffy French Toast
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon sugar and cinnamon mixed
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt (this is a half of the ¼ teaspoon measurement)
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk
2 Tablespoons flour
1 or 2 slices of bread per person in your kitchen (Do not take more than you will eat!!!)
1 Tablespoon margarine or butter (do NOT add this to the egg mixture- you melt it in the pan)
1. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, sugar/cinnamon mixture, nutmeg and salt with a fork. (Mixing the spices with the egg BEFORE adding the milk will allow the spices to blend into the mixture and not float on top once the milk is added.)
2. Add vanilla, milk, and flour; mix well.
3. Heat margarine in the skillet(fry pan) until melted.
4. Soak bread in egg mixture until saturated. Place bread in pan of melted butter.
5. Cook bread on low heat until golden brown, a couple of minutes on each side.
6. Serve warm with butter, syrup, jam or powdered sugar.
