Congo Bars
¼ cup butter
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon + 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
¾ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla.
3. Add baking powder, salt, and flour; beat well.
4. Stir in chocolate chips (or nuts).
5. Pour into greased 8 inch x 8 inch pan.
6. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15-20 minutes.
7. Cool, then cut into bars.
