Drop Biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
1. Heat oven to 450°. Adjust oven rack to center position.
2. Measure flour, baking powder and salt into bowl; cut-in shortening until mixture looks like meal.
3. Make a well in center of dry ingredients; pour in most of the milk (stop adding milk if the dough starts to be sticky).
4. Gently stir dry ingredients with the milk, just until mixture is clumping together. If necessary, add a few more teaspoons of milk.
5. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
6. Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
